Provides CalFresh (food stamps), Medi-Cal, CalWORKs, and other public benefit programs for eligible Alameda County residents.
East Bay Works One-Stop Career Center
Free employment services including job search assistance, résumé help, workshops, and connections to training programs for job seekers.
Alameda County Community Food Bank
Distributes food to individuals and families in need through a network of partner agencies, food pantries, and direct distribution sites across Alameda County.
Bay Area Legal Aid
Provides free civil legal services to low-income individuals and families, including help with housing, family law, immigration, public benefits, and consumer issues.
LifeLong Medical Care
Federally qualified health center offering primary care, dental, mental health, and social services on a sliding-fee scale regardless of insurance status.
Crisis Support Services of Alameda County
24/7 crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and emotional support services. Provides phone counseling, in-person crisis response, and referrals to mental health resources.
Oakland Housing Authority
Administers the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program and public housing for low-income Oakland residents. Also provides housing counseling and referrals.
Peralta Community College District
Offers affordable credit and non-credit courses, GED preparation, vocational training, and transfer pathways to four-year universities at four campuses in the East Bay.
AC Transit
Public bus transit serving Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Offers reduced fares for seniors, youth, and people with disabilities. Clipper card accepted.
Covenant House California
Provides shelter, housing, and support services for youth ages 18–24 experiencing homelessness, including case management, job training, and mental health services.
St. Mary's Center
Provides hygiene supplies, showers, laundry, meals, and supportive services for low-income seniors and adults experiencing homelessness in Oakland.
Oakland SBDC (Small Business Development Center)
Free one-on-one business advising, workshops, and resources for entrepreneurs and small business owners at all stages, from idea to growth.
Alameda County Emergency Financial Assistance
Provides emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities, and other urgent needs to prevent homelessness and stabilize households in crisis.
Oakland Unite
City of Oakland program connecting residents to community-based organizations, violence prevention services, and neighborhood resources across Oakland.
Alameda County Financial Assistance Program
Offers emergency financial assistance, utility bill support, and referrals to financial counseling for low-income Alameda County residents.
